Intermediate Idaho Workshop

$200.00

It’s about time we made some Idaho sun-catchers in the studio! You’ve been asking for years and I’m finally ready to teach this special Idaho-shaped class!

Please select the pair of dates that works for you. Note that this is a special class with limited flexibility. Price includes two Thursday sessions.

This class is for students who have already taken an intro class and are somewhat familiar with cutting and soldering. Previous experience is required so that students can dive right in to cutting the numerous pieces and assembling the unique shape.

A hand-made wood stand with a groove is provided and can be stained or painted depending on your preference.

Day 1: Tool and technique refresher, cutting and grinding with precision, begin foiling

Day 2: Finish foil, solder and apply came border, apply patina and polish, arrange in stand

Idaho mountain Pattern created and owned by Verre Boise and is not for reproduction outside of this class.

What we provide:

No need to purchase expensive equipment in advance! We lend you all the tools needed to complete your project, beautiful glass, safety gear and instruction to make your stained glass piece. Participants will solidify skills in scoring and breaking glass, grinding using a stained glass grinder, foiling individual pieces and soldering with a lead came border. Black patina may be applied at the end of the process. An instructional sheet is provided, as well as advice on purchasing your own supplies.

What to bring and wear:

Participants are required to wear close-toe shoes and pants. You may bring water but we will avoid eating food in the work areas.

Students will have the option to wear a mask during soldering and safety glasses/gloves during cutting and soldering.

Who can participate:

Anyone 18+! This is a great way to dip your toes and learn a little bit about stained glass, which will hopefully allow you to take a more advanced class in the future or start out on your own. This class is great for individuals, couples, groups, birthday or holiday gifts. Price is per person. Ages 15-17 ok with parent taking class with them.

All guests must sign a waiver before taking the class. The waiver will be sent by email.

IMPORTANT: Please note that there is a strict non-refundable policy. Glass classes are not refundable but you may TRANSFER your class purchase to another individual for the same date. Due to the extremely limited availability for these classes, I am unable to reschedule for in a different class if you don't show up for your scheduled date. Please email verreboise@gmail.com to transfer 72 hrs BEFORE your class date. No-shows will not be refunded. Please be considerate of your fellow classmates and instructor as you book.
